As a designer of chemical plants, you know
the need to incorporate safety systems for
flanges valves and expansion joints on plant
designs that include dangerous fluids (like
acids, caustics, steam and oil), due to
the risk of fluid spray out.
This is a necessary but often difficult
step in the engineering process. Its difficult
because the shields need to be carefully
selected and often need to be custom designed
to effectively protect personnel and equipment
from hazardous spray-outs.
You know well that not all applications
are the same. Each plant you design can
have varying flange dimensions, groupings
of flanges, process services.
This represents a degree of complexity on
a detail that can be difficult to approach
due to the time and cost involved in the
analysis and design of a solution.
